The Versatile Blue

Our team of designers went to Market in Atlanta for an inside look into this year’s newest products and trends with blue still holding strong. Why? Because various shades can make your space feel elegant to fun and whimsical. Seen here at Market, cobalt blue is a great accent color for a modern rustic space.

Use a shade of blue/green with grey in it for a transitional space that is both comfortable and polished. Mixing large and small patterns with lustrous solids create contrast in this light and airy room.

This rich, cobalt-blue sofa is accented by large prints and hot pink pillows. Together, it’s pretty and feminine without looking kitsch.

Blue, orange, and red also make great companions. Pairing primary colors with the secondary, orange offers a playful mood. Make sure to keep other elements neutral so as not to overwhelm the space. Orange and red in large applications can be too stimulating, so it’s best to keep these colors out of the bedroom!

For a classic look, navy is your go-to shade. Best on upholstered chairs, ottomans, and accent furniture, navy can be designed to fit any style, from nautical to mid-century modern.  We just love the Greek-key accent table by Hooker furniture!
