Imagine yourself in a swanky Wall Street bar at 5 p.m. on a Friday, surrounded by young, upwardly mobile and fashionable professionals and the beautiful polished wood of a grand and elegant bar. Gold accessories, mirrors and candlelight add shimmer and sparkle to the scene.
That’s the high-style drama embodied in Skyline, a 55-piece collection introduced by Hooker Furniture at the recent High Point Furniture Market that captures the big-city excitement and energy of Manhattan, LA and Chicago.
Skyline is crafted in a unique combination of highly-figured Cathedral Cherry with Walnut stringer inlays and African Rosewood Borders. With brilliant finish clarity, the beauty of the veneers and the contrast of the dark figured cherry and the natural rosewood tones is revealed.
Adding to this contrast is the shimmer of metal in a champagne finish and gold eglomise surfaces on selected pieces creating dramatic color variations.
Convex and concave surfaces, gold metal ferrules on two of the beds and other pieces, quatrefoil-shaped hardware, inviting soft fabrics and a 1930s and 40s Art Décor flavor add to the swanky sophistication.
Dining cases include a server with demilune shape and a black granite top; a display cabinet with a gold-leaf, or eglomise, back panel, a bar on a metal base with a pull-out work surface and a rolling bar cart with glass shelves, round posts, fluted metal and finials on top.
The Skyline Collection was one of the biggest hits for Hooker Furniture at the recent International High Point Furniture Market. Furniture retailers saw it as a fresh and unique look that is perfect for all ages and stages of life.
That means it will be coming to an Authorized Hooker Furniture Retailer near you sometime late summer!
