As a child I would always be excited about the first day of school. I would be so excited to see my friends and classmates again that I could not sleep the night before the first day of classes! As I have grown I have realized the first day is just as exciting for adults as it is for the students, because the parents can finally have a break! While your children are growing up and learning in their adolescent years, cherish those moments, but do not forget that one day they will move out and move onto bigger and better things! It is now that time again, time for you to take a break!
Attending the college of their dreams is usually the next step in their new experience in their life. While you see their old bedroom emptying of all of their favorite things you become sad. Knowing that you will miss them helps them with this transition in life. Do not keep their old bedroom empty and be sad about them leaving. Be proud of your children, for they are discovering who they are and what they want to become in this world. As a way to fill an empty whole in your heart and an empty bedroom in your home, redo the room and make it a space of your own!
Pick a piece of furniture you love and move from there. You can mix and match materials and colors to create a unique space for you.
Make the empty room a guest room, a relaxing space for your escape or even a new home office!
