Brew up a pot of your favorite iced tea and find a great place to chill out because the lazy days of summer are here! Now that schedules are a little more relaxed, the thoughts of weekend get-a-ways and family vacations are on most of our minds.
One of my favorite things to do during the summer is to take short road trips to somewhere new; or if I’m feeling a little nostalgic, my husband and I will revisit an old destination. It is hard to say if we relish in the experience of a revisit or if we enjoy reliving the old moments we shared more. But either way we laugh about the times we had while creating new memories to carry along with us.

Basking by the pool is another summertime favorite for most people. Watching the kids play while grilling a feast full of flavor on the Bar-B welcomes time well spent with friends and loved ones. Easing into the evening as the sun is going down with the sounds of children laughing and the smell of barbeque in the air will always represent all things summer.
Another personal favorite of mine is to go down to the lake with a picnic lunch and enjoy the peaceful natural environment by the water. I have shared many wonderful conversations with my husband while watching the boats drifting about. It always seems as if life is so much more simple when you air out your thoughts with the sights and sounds of the lake in summer.
The joys of summer inspire the need for cherishing what means the most to us. So get up and go enjoy something to do outside … summer will be gone before you know it!
