Bree Carson: ‘My home is the poster child for Hooker Furniture’
By Kim Shaver Vice President of Marketing Communications for Hooker Furniture
Bree Carson of Norman, Oklahoma and her husband, Adam, are practical types. They’re both alumni of the University of Oklahoma, where they studied finance and accounting, and are each now working in financial careers. Maybe that’s why her first reaction when she learned she was the Grand Prize winner in the national sweepstakes for Hooker Furniture’s Rhapsody Collection was to ask herself, “Am I dreaming?”
To be sure it was real, she even forwarded the email to her husband to read. “I was so excited because we had just been shopping at Mathis Brothers Furniture in Oklahoma City, where we absolutely fell in love with the Rhapsody sleigh bed. “It was at Mathis Brothers where we found out about and entered Hooker’s National Rhapsody Sweepstakes,” she said. “Also, we have been fans of Hooker Furniture for years. We already own the Telluride entertainment console and the Telluride executive chair.
We also own the North Hampton desk and the Preston Ridge dining room including the Preston Ridge wine cabinet and Preston Ridge pedestal dining table
and the Preston Ridge living room tables. Our home is the poster child for Hooker Furniture. We feel your designs are always timeless, beautiful and with impeccable quality.”
After the reality of winning the Rhapsody sleigh bed sunk in, Bree and her husband decided to go back to Mathis Brothers Furniture and purchase some companion pieces to go with their new bed, including the Rhapsody 3-drawer night stand and the Rhapsody 12-drawer dresser.
“Our bedroom is our oasis now,” Bree said. “Every time I walk into our bedroom, I don’t want to leave.”
To complete the look of the room, the Carsons found the perfect bed coverings while shopping near Tulsa at a shop called “The Dolphin,” she said.
Bree and her husband and daughter live in the college town of Norman, which is less than 10 miles from the tornado-devastated area of Moore, Oklahoma. She knows many people who were affected, and has been active as a volunteer in relief efforts. She applauds the involvement of Mathis Brothers Furniture also, which has set up disaster support centers as collection points for the Red Cross and area food bank.
